Victoria Park Forest

Where: Begin at Victoria Park, Cambridge (meet at the playground off Salisbury Avenue)

Cambridge has a new woodlot management plan for Victoria Park. Come and enjoy a Spring walk, learn about your local forest, and how you can be involved in making it healthier.

Walk is not entirely accessible as the majority of it will consist of paths through the forest with varying accessibility, slopes and surfaces.

 

Public Art in Downtown Kitchener

When: Saturday, May 5, 11 am – 12:30 pm

Where: Begin at the sculpture “Aporia” located in front of 200 Frederick Street, Kitchener, end at Settlement Coffee – One Victoria St. South, Kitchener

Let’s take a walk and talk about the obvious art, the subtle art, the hidden art, the guerrilla art, and even some soon to be art, all around Downtown Kitchener. We will share information about the artworks, the artists, and their inspirations. We will talk about the history of the artworks, where they come from, and how they fit in with our local history and our community. You will also get a sneak peek into some of the contemporary artworks for public spaces coming to Kitchener as part of CAFKA (Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener & Area) in June.

Rock Around Uptown Waterloo

When: Sunday, May 6, 1:30-3 pm (Friday walk has been cancelled)

Where: Begin and end at Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex

Walk Leader: Peter Russell (Friday), Corina McDonald (Sunday)

Join us for a 90 minute walk around Uptown Waterloo, looking at building stones, fossils, erratics, and more! Dress for the weather and wear your walking shoes!

Craft Beer Cycle Tour

When: Saturday, May 5, 11 am – 2 pm

Where: Begin at Block Three Brewing Company, end at Abe Erb (Waterloo Public Square)

Cycle from St. Jacobs to Uptown Waterloo, visiting three craft breweries and the farmers market. On the way we will observe cycling infrastructure and challenges and discuss potential local cycling tourism opportunities.
